As I looked out the window this morning, I began to get a glimpse into our upcoming Spring. The black birds were soaring and perching in the trees, a Blue Jay flew low and gallantly carrying its juicy worm feast, and across the field behind my house the sun was showering the barns and barren soil in all its glory. In that moment looking at the beautiful landscape before me, I felt an invigorating twinge deep in my soul. My artistic side finally awakening from its wintry nap and ready to take on this year and all that it brings. This Midwestern Indiana winter has been very mild in terms of our normal blizzards and frigid temperatures, but it still was enough to make something inside of me go dormant for those long cold months. With the sun making its grand appearance and the clouds finally giving way to the vivid cerulean sky that I had long forgotten, I feel it's time to start fresh. Portrait ideas have begun swirling and twirling around in my head. Glittering daydreams of smiling children, sun rays peaking around crimson hair and green eyes, ruffly vintage dresses blowing in the breeze, and a wildflower meadow with honey bee and butterfly motes making their debut in these pictures. What can I say, I love dreamy, whimsical, ethereal images and I am always conjuring up new ways to capture them with my camera. I thank God for giving us this day and for reminding us that Spring is just around the corner.
